A van delivery service runs Monday-Friday among the SWITCH member libraries.
SWITCH library users may request materials from any SWITCH library
using TOPCAT, the online catalog.
HOW TO MAKE A REQUEST
To request TOPCAT materials: a.) Enter a search in TOPCAT; b.) locate the needed
item(s); c.) select the REQUEST option; and d.) complete the online request
form entering in your name, barcode number and the SWITCH library you want the
materials sent to (pickup location).
When requesting ARTICLES FROM PERIODICALS, you need
to perform a journal title search in TOPCAT, locate the correct journal and click
the Request button near the top of the screen. Include
bibliographic information such as the author's name, article title, volume, issue,
date and page numbers. Articles requested
via TOPCAT are $0.15 a page for most patrons. Check with your home library about
charges for TOPCAT articles.

HOW LONG DO REQUESTS TAKE?
If available, items will be ready at your pickup library (home library) the
next day or within 48 hours. Materials typically remain on the hold shelf at
the Circulation desk for 4-7 days. Patrons are notified when TOPCAT requests
are available.
RETURNING SWITCH MATERIALS
You may return materials from other SWITCH libraries at your home library in
order to send them back through our delivery service. NOTE: Transit time is
not part of your loan period.
FINES & CHARGES FOR SWITCH MATERIALS
All fines, bills, etc. incurred from TOPCAT item & article requests can be paid
at your home library as well as at the library site where the materials originated.
Patrons are asked to identify themselves and the items at the time of payment.
Fines
for non-home library materials (SWITCH materials) cannot be waived.
